Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project rescuing abandoned and stray animals here especially cats and dogs. One of the problems we encounter is that the animals even if they are not abandoned or not stray are sometimes ignored in the household, especially when there are too many of them already. The practice of spaying animals is not yet so common here and the result is that there are just too many puppies and kittens roaming around. To alleviate this situation, we decided to purchase animal feeds that can cater to 300 of these animals. There are no specialized feeds here for dogs and cats so we decided to just replace them with feeds for poultry which is readily available with the knowledge that poultry feeds have the same protein and carbohydrates content needed by cats and dogs. Two of our volunteers will be distributing the feeds in 2 barrios here.
