Introduction
The "Aporta" project, a key initiative of FUNCOMAS, has completed another quarter of successful operations. Focused on participatory donation, "Aporta" seeks to unite individuals and institutions with the common goal of improving the living conditions of the neediest. During the period from December 2023 to March 2024, various activities were carried out that have strengthened the community and provided tangible support to families in the neighborhoods of Santo Domingo.
Activities Carried Out
-
Christmas Dinner for Families in Santo Domingo Neighborhoods: In December 2023, a special Christmas dinner was organized for families from the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Santo Domingo. This event not only offered a nutritious and delicious meal to attendees but also promoted a sense of community and belonging during a particularly significant time of year.
-
Delivery of Food Baskets for Families: Throughout the quarter, food baskets were distributed to needy families. These baskets, consisting of a variety of essential foods, were designed to ensure the nutritional well-being of the benefiting families, positively impacting their quality of life.
-
Craftsmanship Courses to Develop Decorative Objects with Recycled Material: Craftsmanship courses were implemented that taught participants to create decorative objects using recycled materials. These workshops not only promoted creativity and the development of practical skills but also raised awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental care.
-
Delivery of Gifts, Made with Recycled Material for Women: As a culmination of the craftsmanship courses, handmade gifts, utilizing recycled materials, were delivered to women in the served communities. This activity had a dual impact: it provided women with useful and decorative objects, and highlighted the value of recycling and local craftsmanship.

The Christmas dinner and the delivery of food baskets not only addressed basic needs but also offered hope and joy at crucial moments.
