Period: March – May 2025
Foundation for Single Mothers and Vulnerable Youth (FUNCOMAS)
Between March and May 2025, the Aporta (AxTA) project focused on strengthening its operational foundation, increasing public awareness, and engaging with potential sponsors. These actions were part of our proactive approach to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, which annually affects our region with heavy rains, flooding, and storm-related emergencies.
Aporta (AxTA) is an initiative dedicated to receiving donations from individuals and companies and distributing them to people and families living in poverty or exposed to social vulnerability, especially during times of crisis.
Throughout the quarter, our team developed and refined the project’s operational mechanisms to ensure effective and transparent management of donations.
Key achievements:
Definition of operational protocols for the receipt, classification, and equitable distribution of in-kind donations (food, medicine, clothing, hygiene supplies).
Development of a logistical response framework tailored to emergency conditions.
Identification of priority communities in collaboration with local leaders and social workers.
To build social commitment around donation culture, we launched a focused awareness campaign aimed at engaging the public and private sectors.
Tools and channels:
Social media engagement through Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp
Printed materials distributed in community centers
Informative sessions with students, business leaders, and church groups
Core messages:
Promote responsible giving with real social impact
Highlight the urgent needs of families at risk during the hurricane season
Outcomes:
Rise in online engagement and follower growth (+30%)
Onboarding of new volunteers
First meetings with local business owners interested in participating
FUNCOMAS conducted direct visits and outreach meetings with companies and organizations with potential for long-term support or emergency contributions.
Number of outreach visits: 12
Engaged sectors:
CSR-oriented companies
Pharmacies, supermarkets, and agricultural suppliers
Community-focused educational and faith-based institutions
Results:
3 preliminary collaboration agreements
5 companies expressed interest in contributing during disaster response
Aporta (AxTA) integrated into 2 regional humanitarian coordination networks
As part of our preventive strategy for the high-risk season, the following actions were initiated:
Mapping of flood-prone zones and vulnerable settlements
Coordination with community leaders for early warning and relief planning
Launch of supply pre-collection efforts, focusing on non-perishable goods and first-aid items
Between March and May 2025, Aporta (AxTA) made substantial progress in operational readiness, community outreach, and institutional relationship-building. These foundations are essential to delivering timely and effective assistance to vulnerable populations in the months ahead.
In the coming quarter, we plan to:
Activate our emergency donation and distribution system
Launch a seasonal donation drive focused on hurricane preparedness
Train a group of community volunteers to assist in logistics and coordination
We extend our deepest gratitude to the generous individuals, companies, and institutions who have already contributed or shown interest in supporting Aporta (AxTA). Your solidarity strengthens our ability to respond swiftly and compassionately to those in need. Thank you for trusting us and for being part of a movement that transforms generosity into dignity, safety, and hope.
