Human activities on the capacity of the land represent a huge challenge for agriculture and the growing demand for food could cause dietary changes, therefore it becomes essential to increase food production and promote economic development for communities that develop agricultural activities.
In Amún Shéa we promote agricultural development that allows at the same time the economic development in diverse areas through the hydroponic production, the students of Baccalaureate Technician in Agribusiness, develop skills that strengthen the productive capacities, at the same time the sustainability and guarantee of this way the food security of the students of the institution.
The process in which children are from nursery to high school form a valuable tool, the accompaniment of parents allows them to raise awareness about the importance of developing labor and economic skills in terms of agriculture. The students are part of an ecological awareness process that protects natural spaces, converting them into a fundamental value for life
Hydroponics forms an ecological conscience based on the minimum use of resources, showing itself as a solution to sustainability. In addition to its innovative aspect, it is consolidated as a very broad opportunity for the future of agriculture and we are interested so that children, in addition to applying their knowledge in the sowing in the greenhouses transfer knowledge in their homes, motivating parents to make small family gardens.
In Amún Shéa we encourage parents to promote a healthy diet based on home gardens, with the support and knowledge of their children through what they have learned in the educational process. Children are able to create awareness in those around them, demonstrating that life skills must be taught in educational centers, forming autonomous human beings.
Haidée is eight years old, a first-grade student "I really like going to the greenhouse, because I learn to plant and also teach us the importance of recycling and we learn to build pots to plant strawberries and roses."
Julio is 8 years old, first grade student "In the greenhouse I learn many things, they teach me how to plant and how to water the plants, I also learn to feed myself healthy with what we grow, we sow chives and I could take it to my house".
Yohan is seven years old, a nursery school student "In the greenhouse we grow lettuce, chives, strawberries and sunflowers. I love going to the greenhouse because even though I'm small, they let me plant seeds that later become plants."
Karla is nine years old, a second grade student "I learn the importance of fertilizing plants and how to fight pests with materials that we have in the house, such as oil and bags, so our plants grow healthy and strong."
Educating children from an early age is for Amún Shéa the main key for agricultural development in Morazán, turning them into agents of change, with knowledge to support the peasant sector of the area and opening spaces for economic strengthening, education in natural sciences beyond of the class solons, with the effective orientation so that the boys and the girls increase their theoretical and practical knowledge.
Thank you for your support to the education of Salvadoran children and youth, we will continue to strengthen the educational quality with your support.
