Access to connectivity

By Luciana Palacio | Project Leader

Nowadays, access to technology and to the internet are basic needs for personal development during school period and to find opportunities in the work market later. If the world was showing as so, digital literacy became fundamental after the advances made during the SARS-COVID 19 Pandemic related to connectivity.

ACDI was always committed to guarantee the digital literacy of children and adolescents, that’s why it continues to support the work of Santa Lucía High School No. 3138 in Santa Fe, an institution aeger to integrate its students into tomorrow’s society.

First steps were made by the setting up of the internet network so that teachers have more tools at their disposal to improve pedagogic ways of teaching.   The climate of the students with this novelty is of total joy, taking into consideration that most of them come from families of scarce economic resources that live in the peripheral neighborhoods of the city.

Furthermore, during this 2022 our goal is to reduce the social, digital and educational gap of the students. This school does not have yet a Computer Room nor means to build and equipate one. So, ACDI aims to create a digital cart that consists of an innovative set of devices available for teachers and students to carry out activities with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the classrooms.

It is designed to be a cart so that it can offer the possibility of rotating through the different places of the school. Work will be done so that the digital cart is composed of netbooks, a notebook, a cannon and digital whiteboard, printer, photographic machine and pendrives.

We believe that, in a society that presents ICTs as fundamental tools for all types of learning, for the work market and human relations, the lack of contact with them limits these students' possibilities. That’s the aim and importance of our commitment to continue working to achieve this dream. Would you like to join us? Digital Cart can be a reality for members of High School Santa Lucía thanks to your donation!
