Argentina: Improving Children Access to Education

ACDI promotes equal opportunities in education and, at the same time addressing children's right to adequate food, we launched an agroecological garden workshop for students and their families at the Jesús Resucitado school in Alto Verde with the objective to strengthen their self-production capacities to improve their access to quality food.

A community garden was installed at the school thanks to the participation of teachers, students and their families, and ACDI provided learning workshops on crop management by an agricultural engineer. Likewise, groups of students are trained in the use of the Kokue application, created by ACDI to achieve autonomy in crop management and, above all, for families to replicate the gardens in their own homes.

Furthermore, the initiative accompanies the commitment of the educational community to promote actions that have a positive impact on the environment: composting techniques are addressed to fertilize gardens and recycling is promoted.

Finally, community ties and spaces for meeting, training and reflection are promoted to make the community more inclusive and empowered in terms of financial management.
