Ximena was able to access her glasses thanks to the contributions of donors!
According to the World Health Organization, between 15% and 20% of school-age children will have difficulties that, if left untreated, can interfere with their intellectual development. In this sense, at ACDI we accompany the vision checks of children and adolescents in schools in vulnerable conditions, to help them in the early detection of possible pathologies and their corresponding treatment.
It is crucial to ensure that students are well prepared, not only with school supplies, but also with the appropriate equipment to care for their visual health. Because a child who cannot read well is not on equal terms, and today in Argentina, acquiring glasses can be financially inaccessible for some families. This was the case of Ximena, whose family could not afford the glasses prescribed by the doctor. Today, thanks to the contributions of donors, Ximena has her renewed glasses.
Furthermore, several reports indicate that, by using the appropriate lenses, students can promote their comprehensive training, cognitive, emotional and social development, increasing their motivation and self-esteem due to their achievements.
Join our efforts so that more children have access to equal opportunities in their education!
