Hello 2024!
All of us here at Arts For All hope your New Year is off to a great start! We are incredibly excited to share with you, our GlobalGiving community, some of what we have planned for 2024. Thanks to your continued support, our organization has been able to survive through the ups and downs of the past 4 years while our dedicated staff, teaching artists, donors, and partnering organizations have continued to grow and further spread our mission to children all throughout New York City.
1) With the continued, growing success of our Virtual Classroom and expansion of our core programs (Artistic Residency Program, Literacy Through the Arts, Audience Project, and Artistic Exposure Program) both in-person and virtually, we are continuing to serve approximately 5,000 children per year.
2) This spring we have planned over 400 Literacy Through the Arts (LTA) in-person workshops, serving over 500 students with our school partners: PS15, PS76, Renaissance Charter School 1 & 2, PS163 and PS4.
3) Our Artistic Residency Program (ARP) is on track to offer over 200 in-person workshops between all of our ARP school partners including PS69, PS163, PS194, PS19, Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, Williamsburg High School of Arts and Tech, PS243, New Alternatives for Children and the Corlears School. And, for the first time in AFA history, we will also be able to offer ARP programming to longtime school partner PS15! Combined with a new ARP Video Series for our Virtual Classroom, we are looking forward to reaching over 600 students this spring.
4) Speaking of Arts For All’s Virtual Classroom, in December-January we premiered our latest ARP Video Series Let’s Learn About Arts For All’s 5 Core Values - self-confidence, self-expression, teamwork, resilience, and creativity. Featuring Teaching Artist Leah Young, this video series incorporates Spanish vocabulary to assist young English Language Learners (ELL) as well as English speaking youth looking to learn Spanish. Since implementing our Virtual Classroom, we’ve been able to create a total of 185 videos between 20 different series and we’re not stopping there. A new ARP 5-part learning series on Social and Emotional learning and continuing to incorporate bilingual practices, featuring Teaching Artist Leah Young is set to premiere this spring. Let’st not forget about Fun Craft Fridays! Shared across our social media platforms, our FCF library continues to grow with a new seasonal craft project for students to do every Friday.
Finally, we want to thank YOU, for always being there to support our organization and for believing in our mission to provide accessible artistic opportunities to children. We have been so fortunate to have been able to continue to not only offer our programs to our partners, but also to grow both in-person and virtually.
We hope that you will continue to support our organization and consider a contribution, so that we can continue to provide sustainable, quality arts programs to under-served children in New York City for years to come.
Sincerely,
Anna Roberts Ostroff
Executive Director
