Can you relate to this?
“I wanted to figure out why I was so busy, but I couldn't find the time to do it.” – Todd Stocker
Are your days feeling fast-paced and overwhelming? We can relate! But it’s been a great reminder to step back and reflect on what has been done to inform and improve what we’re doing as we move forward. Stories can help!
We continue to collect recordings of stories, like this one featuring Councilmember Will Jawando. Our goal is to gather 100 new stories. Just set up your phone or tablet to record yourself reading your favorite picture book, then share your video by email or WeTransfer to program@storytapestries.org, or save to this Dropbox folder.
Sometimes we’re so focused on productivity and ticking off tasks from our long to-do list and generally “getting things done” that we miss admiring the beauty in what’s being done or risk misplacing value in the small gestures that can seem unimportant, but are in fact what make the difference.
When I need a moment to hit the “reset” button, I often turn to a book. This is a wonderful habit to start from a very young age, and Story Tapestries and our team of volunteers have worked hard so you don’t have to - just visit our YouTube Channel and pick a story to listen to. This week, I am enjoying this 1-minute tale that’s an awesome reminder of the need for hope and the power of love: https://youtu.be/Ycu-PY4R6_c and I’m wearing my t-shirt with this reminder:
“Don’t Get So Busy Making A Living That You Forget To Make A Life” – Dolly Parton
