BUILDING HEALTHLY HABITS FOR LONGEVITY

As devastating as the COVID-19 pandemic has been, here at The Angel Projects Uganda a beautiful project has blossomed out of a necessary respsonse to its effects.  We started the Saving Grace Project in 2021 after realizing that there is a large need in the Rubuguri area for basic healthcare, particularly for the elderly members of the community.  Many of these elderly community members live in isolation and have no family to rely on; of course, there are also no programs such as Medicare that are available to them.  

For that reason, The Angel Projects stepped in to fill the gap.  We began teaching young local women how to provide basic First-Aid, how to check vitals, and how to look for signs and symptoms of larger problems so that further medical care could be provided.  We also began providing food, bedding, hygiene products, and other supplies to these elderly members of the Rubuguri community.

The results have been amazing and life-changing.  We've seen many of the members of the Saving Grace Project become healthier after eating a more nutritious diet, living in more hygienic conditions, and receiving the medical attention they so desperately needed.  We continue to strive to meet their needs, and our Saving Grace team travels out three times a week to bring supplies and to check in on the elderly and give them company.
