A new season is here, and thanks to all of your support, the members of The Angel Projects' Elderly Project continue to thrive! We recently went through a health scare with Caroline, one of our long-time members, but after reaching out to our supporters for emergency help, we were able to get her the care she needed, and she's now recovering at home.
Around the beginning of September, Angel Projects staff members discovered that Caroline's health condition had deteriorated greatly, and she was rushed to the local medical clinic, where she received important tests, IV fluids, and medication. At the local clinics in Uganda, food, bedding, and basic caregiving are not provided, so it was up to the Angel Projects to provide these necessities for Caroline. You, our supporters, came through, and Caroline was well taken care of throughout her stay in the clinic. Thank you!
Staff members also found out that Caroline was in desperate need of new lighting and bedding in her home as well as assitance with deep cleaning and rodent control. The people we help are very humble and appreciate all the support, so they are hesitant to ask for additional assistance, even when it's vital. Because Angel Projects' staff members mostly work with the elderly outside, cleaning, cooking, and bathing them in their outdoor spaces, they hadn't realized how much the interior of Caroline's home had deteriorated. Now, we are very pleased to report that Caroline's home is sparkling clean and rodent-free with brand-new bedding and solar lights; Caroline continues to recover and receive care in her updated home. Thank you to all our donors who stepped up and gave extra support as we provided these necessities for Caroline.
Because of the situation with Caroline, Angel Projects' staff members conducted thorough wellness checks on the other members of the Elderly Project, and they quickly discovered that Yudes desperately needed a new, warmer blanket as well as some other supplies. Again, she hadn't wanted to ask for additional support because of all the care she's already receiving, but staff members assured her that we're dedicated to caring for her and that she should let us know when a need is not being addressed. We were able to supply her with a warm blanket for those cold mountain nights as well as new sheets, bowls, spoons, and a cooking pot.
Because of your generosity, we're able to pass the love and support on to these beautiful women who would otherwise be forgotten by society. Their love and resilience are a blessing to The Angel Projects; thank you for aiding us in their continued care!
