By Yoi Ashida | Summer Intern
Dear everyone,
Hello! This is Yoi, and I am a summer intern at Ashoka Japan.
Hope this finds you well!
We would love to share reports from two exicting events: Youth Venture Panel and Fundraising Pitch!
1. Youth Venture Panel Screening
On July 14, we hosted our 38th Youth Venture Panel Screening in Tokyo.
Four candidates presented their actions, and we are happy to welcome two new Youth Venturers. We now have recognized a total of 99 teams (approx. 400 teammates) since 2012.
Four panelists for this event were professionals from education and journalism as well as a former Ashoka Youth Venturer, who listened carefully to all of the candidates and discussed their thoughts.
Through the next year and beyond, we hope that these Changemakers will take risks, practice empathy, and grow to become innovators that will affect change in the world!
2. Fundraising Pitch
Last Saturday, July 20, we organized ASHOKA Youth Social Venture Fundraising Pitch for the first time in Tokyo.
Some Youth Venturers kept working on their projects and reached a phase where they invite more people to involve in and scale up their social impact. Four finalists, who passed a rigorous screening process, had a chance to pitch their actions.
We had more than 50 guests, and the audience asked many questions, even after the pitches ended. The room was full of curiosity and energy!
Throughout the event, Youth Venturers received a lot of inspiration and support, not only financially but also in other forms such as feedback and offers of pro bono support from professionals.
It was an amazing afternoon with a lot of excitement! Thank you for those who joined the event and invested in those youth social ventures.
Please keep updated for the journeys of young changemakers in Japan!!
Best wishes,
Yoi
