Dear everyone,
Hello! This is Yoi from Ashoka Japan, and I am a new staff member for the team. Nice to meet you!
Due to COVID-19, we had to cancel many events related to Youth Venture program that we were preparing to hold, and Youth Changemaker Exchange (YCX) 2020 was one of them. In YCX 2020, four Youth Venturers were planning to visit New York City and Philadelphia for 10 days in March. As it was last year, YCX 2020 was to be a great experience for the Youth Venturers, but it had to be canceled because of the pandemic.
Thanks to one of generous Ashoka Fellows, we will be able to virtually visit Sascha Haselmayer in NY this Saturday, June 6. We will report how the YVers used this opportunity with an outstanding social entrepreneur!
Also, we are planning our first virtual Youth Venture selection panel soon. Please stay tuned for the update!
The biggest learning we gained during the unprecedented crisis in front of us is that we need to accelerate Youth Venturers selection to nurture more and more young Changemakers who can be real leaders of Japan who are empathetic, creative and courageous. We will even more vigorously advance out action this year.
