Happy New Year!!
2020 has been a tough year, and the difficulty won't dissappear suddenly in 2021. All we can do is to be future-minded and create the change we want to see in the world. Ashoka Japan is determined to keep empowering youth to be powerful changemakers, especially in this challenging time!
Last November, we selected two Youth Venturers!
Jiei (14) - Jiei himself has hyper-sensitivity for all five senses. He is creating a community of people with hyper-sensitivity and also developing products that will help such people. He also wants to change how we perceive hyper-sensitivity: from abnormality and inconvenience to special talent.
Tetsu (17) - Tetsu is interested in bridging and combining the two different groups. Currently, he is running a 6-month program where high schoolers come up with new solution for plastic pollution in the ocean, with the help of scholars. While high schoolers have a mindset of seeing the new opportunities, scholars can provide deep knowledge about the field. He is excited to see what will come out by combining those two groups.
We are accelerating our Youth Venture program! Stay tuned for more updates!
Warmly,
Yoi Ashida
