Hello! This is Yoi from Ashoka Japan.
In November, we took advantage of the decline of COVID cases and held three LEAP workshop in person.
LEAP workshop is designed mainly for middile and high school who want to take action for the betterment of society but don't know how. Basic structure is: 1) introducation of Youth Venturers (YVers) as their peer role model, 2) self-reflection to figure out what issue they want to tackle, and 3) think about the first step of their action.
At Kyotanabe (Kyoto), Amagasaki (Hyogo), and Yuza (Yamagata), around 40 students participated. They seemed to be inspired by examples of YVers, who are around their age and already creating differences.
At the same time, YVers shared their first steps of their action, which seems feasible for the participants. For example, Yuna shared that her project started by a simple tweet, and Reina started her action by writing her experience on a blog.
A participants wrote: "social problem" never sounded related to me, but through this workshop, I felt there are some issues around me that I want to work on.
We would like to holding more of this workshop, so if you are in Japan and interested in collaborating with us, please contact Yoi <yashida@ashoka.org>
With the power of YVers who embody changemaker, we will keep moving forward. Thank you for your support!
Best,
Ashoka Japan Team
