Thank you for taking interest in Ashoka Japan's Youth Venture Initiative.
In our Tohoku Youth Venture initiative, we find youth between the ages of 12 to 20 who are taking action in their communities after it had been disrupted by the 2011 Tsunami and earthquake and elected them as ‘Youth Venturers’.
The network of youth who act upon their intrinsic motivation and strive to bring positive changes in their communities has grown over the past 5 years. Now we are proud to have a network of young changemakers not only limited to the Tohoku area but all across Japan.
Up until now, there are 84 teams of Youth Venturers, which add up to 300 youths when we include their teammates. The youth venturers who were still in high school or university when they applied for the program, have already graduated and are now making a larger impact in the society. Some of them have grown to become social entrepreneurs.
