By Johnson Dickson | Project Leader
Over the last three months, we have provided wheelchairs and standing frames to fifteen physically handicapped children in Moshi Rural, Kilimanjaro, thanks to the generosity of our incredible benefactors. These devices will enable the children to learn and engage in social interactions. In addition to teaching parents how to raise their children, we have also offered them psychological support to help them deal with the challenges they face.
We also trained about fifty community members to dispel common misconceptions about disabilities, and we encouraged them to report any instances where the disabilities of children are being hidden. This community education program aims to foster a more welcoming and supportive environment for all children with disabilities.
