Environmental and attitudinal barriers restrict people with disabilities (PWDs) from accessing educational and employment opportunities thereby trapping them within a vicious cycle of poverty. The lack of mobility is a huge factor that contributes to further reinforcing these restrictions since it hinders PWDs from further accessing any opportunities that might be out there to accommodate them.
Assistive devices serve as crucial pathways to empowerment as they bridge the gap between PWDs and the opportunities leading to their empowerment. However, since the marginalization of PWDs is so deeply rooted in our social structures, the PWDs do not possess the significant financial resources needed for acquiring these assistive devices. Thus, the gap between them and their prospects of empowerment continues to persist and worsen.
Your donations can allow us to provide PWDs with the assistive devices they so desperately need to regain their mobility and exercise their agency by pursuing opportunities leading to their empowerment. With your generous support in the past, we have helped numerous PWDs in reclaiming their mobility, however, there are still many more who remain deprived of these pathways to empowerment and are in desperate need of your support.
