The Aventureros are Thriving!

By Austin Fowler | Volunteer

As we wind down a wonderful year of the Aventureros program, we are grateful to our generous supporters for the many successes in 2021. This program wouldn't exist without you, and we are thankful for you all!

Since we last checked in, the kids of Aventureros have continued to thrive! Below are some highlights:

1. The Summer 2021 plastic pollution research is complete. There is much more work to be done to tackle this problem, but having the data is the first step. See below for an infographic of the results.

2. Aventureros won an award! The Bahia de los Angeles Natural Areas Advisory Council awarded Aventureros with the Ecological Prize for their work and advocacy in protecting the lands and waters they call home. Way to go kids!

3. The kids have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Rancho San Gregorio multiple times this fall to learn about dessert ecology and to experience the peace and beauty of this wonderful place.

4. Multiple guest instructors have visited the Vermilion Sea Field Station to teach the Aventureros kids about their areas of expertise.

We look forward to partnering with you in 2022 to continue the momentum and grow Aventueros in big ways! If you'd like to support us this Giving Tuesday, please visit our website.

Thank you!
