By German Paredes | Aventureros Program Coordinator
This summer Aventureros have been involved in many amazing adventures!
They participated in panga expeditions, learning about the marine wildlife in the Gulf of California, several of the kids learned how to swim, while others enjoyed lessons on geology, birds and participating in Spanish and English reading activities with US students. A highlight of the summer was getting the kids in the water to assist with data collection on whale sharks, some of them for the very first time.
However, the summer wasn’t all about the sea! We had some great times playing card games and enjoying pizza parties and working together as a team to prepare our next activities. We are currelntly collaborating on new projects such as water quality studies and developing new research skills.
Finally, we are looking forward to the coming months since we have some new ideas for the kids in order to continue to help them grow as conservationists and as important members of the community, members that seek to take care of the environment.
