We are thrilled to highlight the incredible accomplishments and growth of our youth leaders who have been leading the charge in driving positive change within our community. Through their unwavering dedication, they have achieved remarkable milestones that are being recognized by the BDLA community and by other conservation organizations in Baja California.

Our exceptional youth leaders recently organized a highly successful community event that brought together members of our community in a united effort to combat plastic waste and marine debris. The event not only raised awareness but also engaged individuals of all ages in impactful initiatives to protect our environment. In total, they collected over 448 lbs of debris from BDLA!

In addition to their community event, our youth leaders had the extraordinary opportunity to support an international cleanup of ghost nets in San Felipe. Invited by Parley, a renowned organization committed to ocean conservation, our youth leaders showcased their skills and dedication on a global stage. This event marked the first-ever Tournament for Collection and Recycling of Discarded Fishing Gear in the Gulf of California, where a remarkable 3 tons of waste were collected. Their dedication and hard work were recognized, showcasing their commitment to protecting marine life and preserving our precious oceans.

Another great milestone for the Aventureros, was an inviitation to participate in a groundbreaking conference hosted by the US Government in Mexico. Collaborating with the Mexican Government and various community-based conservation projects, the Aventureos joined forces to address the pressing issue of marine pollution. Representing th Aventureros, our Coordinator, Claire, and extraordinary Guía, Idra, showcased our remarkable initiatives. They highlighted our community's efforts to transition away from styrofoam and single-use plastics, while also introducing our latest project, Marea Viva—an innovative plastics recycling and reimagining center. As part of this enriching experience, they had the privilege of visiting the world's largest recycling plant, PetStar.

These accomplishments exemplify the exceptional growth and leadership qualities displayed by our youth leaders. Their unwavering commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements.

We remain deeply committed to fostering the continued development of our young leaders, providing them with opportunities to grow and empowering them to create lasting change.

Through their passion and dedication, we are confident that they will continue to make significant strides in protecting marine life and preserving the integrity of our precious oceans.

Join us in celebrating the outstanding achievements of our youth leaders and recognizing the transformative impact they have had in our community and beyond. Together, we can amplify their efforts, inspire others, and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
