Making Organ Donation a Reality
Multi-city Sensitization Sessions/Events on Organ Donation
Multi-city sensitization sessions/events on organ donation were organized on online platforms like Facebook, You Tube, Google meet & zoom for participants belonging to the cities of Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Indore, Belgaum, Dhule, Jaipur, Udaipur, Pune & Nagpur.
Target audience were workers of municipal corporation, police gymkhana, staff of Ayurvedic Hospital, members of NGO’s, college students, NCC students, social worker groups, hospital staff, critical care unit & nursing staff, patients, police personnel, paramedical students, fire fighters, security guards, corporate employees officers, law students, pharmacy students, First Aid Course students, Inner wheel club members, National Railway Union members, staff of BCN News Channel, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members, BJP members, staff of Jansampark Office, Rotary Club members & Jelly crusher labourers. Close to 8110 people were reached through 84 sessions (online & face to face).
People Reached through E-newsletters
1,54,135 people were reached out and educated through MOHAN Foundation’s Indian Transplant Newsletter, Issue 62 and E-newsletters.
Public Awareness through Radio Program
MOHAN Foundation is overjoyed to be reaching out to lakhs of people across Rajasthan through All India Radio. 2 community radio programmes were organized on organ donation which were broadcasted on 101.2 FM. AIR almost covers 70% of the area of Rajasthan.
Synchrony Dialogues with MOHAN Foundation
MOHAN Foundation organized 2 webinars as part of it’s ongoing series of ‘Synchrony Dialogues’ on social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter – a webinar titled -“Lung Transplants Post COVID-19 & Other Options” and another on “Planned Parenthood Post Transplant”.
MOHAN Foundation Organ Donation Helpline
MOHAN Foundation’s 24X7 helpline gives information on organ donation & transplantation, pan India in 8 languages. 1298 Calls facilitated by MOHAN Foundation’s executives, resulting in 22 eye donations, 4 body donations and 1 skin donation thus saving 21 lives. (From one person, two corneas are retrieved)
Organ Donation Facilitated by MOHAN Foundation’s Transplant Coordinators
Due to COVID 19, all on-ground activities had been affected. The pandemic has affected the manoeuvre of hospitals/ health care institutes. Nevertheless, MOHAN Foundation’s transplant coordinators have been working relentlessly to increase the rate of organ donation through family counselling at the hospitals. They counselled the families of brain dead people to give gift of life to other people by donating their loved one’s organs that resulted in 26 eye donations, 8 kidney donations, 4 liver donations, 2 lung donations & 1 heart donation.
A Total of 64 lives (including donations happened through MOHAN Foundation’s Helpline) across India were impacted in this quarter.
