Xiao Qi (name anonymized for privacy) is already a skilled veteran in her role as an assistant chef. However, she still faces challenges when it comes to making seaweed hand rolls. The process requires complex hand movements, and her left-hand mobility impairment has been a significant obstacle.
To help Xiao Qi, her job coach designed an ingenious work aid called the “#ZhiRanRoll”. This device, crafted from binder clips, acrylic stands, and a plastic cutting board, allows for one-handed operation, making the hand roll-making process both simple and safe.
The ZhiRanRoll not only enables Xiao Qi to complete her tasks with ease but also improves her efficiency and boosts her confidence. Even better, this innovative tool isn’t just for Xiao Qi—it’s also beneficial for other sheltered employees with limited cognitive abilities or single-limb functionality, allowing them to create consistent, high-quality seaweed hand rolls.
