The Chengcheng Workshop of the CAREUS Foundation welcomed a group of very special guests—the catcher squad of the Wei Chuan Dragons from the Chinese Professional Baseball League! Coach Liu Chia-Hao led catchers Chiang Shao-Hung, Giljegiljaw Kungkuan, and Quan Hao-Wei to the workshop, sharing an afternoon filled with laughter, warmth, and heartfelt connection.
Coach Liu expressed that he hopes players not only stay focused on training on the field, but also actively participate in public welfare off the field, spreading love and care. The event kicked off with excitement as everyone joined a musicguessing icebreaker game. Each time the music played, the players and the trainees sang and danced along, filling the room with nonstop laughter and applause. For the final song, the Dragons’ own cheer anthem suddenly played—instantly turning the space into a spirited fan meet!
Afterward, everyone worked together to assemble charity gift boxes, placing handwritten blessing cards inside. The players collaborated with gentle focus, moving in sync with the trainees just like they do with teammates on the baseball field.
The players shared that while catchers usually guide their teammates during games, today it was the trainees who guided them—an experience both meaningful and heartwarming. The trainees’ joy and enthusiasm deeply moved the players; and the players’ sincere companionship and encouragement made the trainees feel as though they were standing on the “home field” of their own lives.
A heartfelt thank-you to Coach Liu and the Dragons’ catchers for making this afternoon one of the warmest and most empowering moments for all of us.
