Early this year BARKA Foundation drilled a well on its own land to provide clean water for Internally Displaced people (IDPs) and started the agricultural part of the project.
In fact, having water on the land makes all activities possible. BARKA started the trees plantation and put in ground up to 200 trees, creating this way an edible forest. In addition to that, women and men are beginning the creation of a garden where they will grow vegetables and green leaves to improve nutrition and combat hunger.
To enable the sustainability of this project and avoid wandering animals on the land, we are beginning fencing of the land this month to protect the garden. This project is creating small jobs for many women and men willing to contribute to food self-sufficiency. This also proves that water is one of the most important sources of generating revenues activities.
BARKA Foundation is also working with the Rotary Foundation represented by the Crystal Club of Ouagadougou, on a water project for three villages in desperate need of clean water. This project is in a process of approval and will supply more than 5000 people.
We can't do all this work without you and we humbly and sincerely thank you all for your continuous support and your generous donations that enable us to do this work. We are grateful, and thanks to your contributions we will keep on providing clean water for the people of Burkina Faso.
Please Help us change people's lives through water in a country where access to clean water is a real struggle.
