Thank you again to everyone that has contributed to the basketball project, we are happy to announce our sneakers for Africa project is a big success and we continue to distributed shoes collected from friends and family in the United States.
Availability of durable shoes have always been a problem for our kids, all games are played on outdoor basketball courts and those conditions are not the best for cheap shoes. Fortunately through friends and family in the USA, and with the help of some basketball team around the states, we put together a shoe drive for our kids in Minna. Over 200 pairs of gently used athletes shoes where collected and just arrived in Minna first week in December 2023. Shoes where distributed to school kids all around the basketball courts in Minna and surrounding towns during our clinic week in February 2023.
Abba who was one of our etile junior kid was so excited to receive the shoes he came back the next day with a friends to introduce them to the game of basketball.
