Hello Donors,
Thank you for your donations! All donations have been helpful in supporting the implementation of ongoing projects in Africa. This update is to inform you of the success of the boys basketball team from Government Secondary School (GSS) Minna. The team was successful in the Zonal Boys Competition held during annual Milo Inter Junior Secondary School games in Lokoja. The GSS Minna team will be one of the 6 teams competing in Lagos for the championship. We are very proud to say that all the 15 kids on the team have participated in the Timeout4Africa clinic week in Minna.
In the last week of May, the Timeout4Africa Foundation staff organized a 2-day clinic to work with the GSS boys team. The 2-day clinic was designed to prepare the team for the Junior Secondary School games in Lagos. The clinic included instructional drill, coaches clinic, and life skills talk with the boys. Refreshments were also served during the clinic. The kids were encouraged to be good citizens and to do there best to make us proud. Approximately 25 students and 6 coaches participated in the 2-day event.
Mr. Abiodun, the game master at GSS Minna, extended a special thank you to donors and Time Out4Africa Foundation for enhancing the school’s basketball facility. He also stated that he was thankful for all of the services rendered to the kids throughout the competition. Additionally Mr. Abiodun informed us that a 13 year old 7 feet tall kid Salem joined the team and will be traveling with the team to Lagos for the competition.
We will keep you posted on the results of the National Championship and the results of the competition. Please continue to support us at www.timeout4africa.com
