Children in Malawi are responding positively to the BILD youth sport development programme established by Youth Sport Trust International less than a year ago. Feedback from the in-country project team highlights that sport is helping to change negative attitudes, boosting confidence and developing resilience in children to overcome setbacks and obstacles.
Mphesto Andrea is a 13 year old boy whose life has been transformed since he became a BILD Malawi beneficiary, with notable improvements in both his physical health and overall wellbeing. He says,
'Sport is not only good for our health, it prevents us from engaging in bad behaviour.'
By the end of March 2025, BILD Malawi had:
Malawi is the fourth poorest and one of the world's least developed countries facing many social, economic and health challenges. 66.4% of the population are aged 0-24 years. Please help Youth Sport Trust International to continue to improve the life chances of young people in Malawi.
