A Life Lost

Dear Friends,

I hope you're all keeping safe in these strange times.

The past couple of years have undoubtedly been difficult for all of us.

As we struggle to adapt to the many challenges COVID19 continues to impose, here in Lebanon, life becomes more difficult by the day. With food, power, water, medicine, fuel, and other shortages, the crisis has brought a broken country and its population to its knees.

Millions are struggling with the collapse of basic services and the skyrocketing prices, including nineteen-year-old *Sana, whose young husband was killed in the tragic Beirut explosions, leaving her with three little kids, including a newborn to look after.

With him gone, this family has lost their source of support and the family's breadwinner to the explosion. But more importantly, Sana has lost her partner and her children will never get to know their father.

Your kind donations have enabled us to help cover the basic needs of her children, including milk, food, and diapers. We hope to continue to provide support for this family, particularly to cover expenses related to the children's education once they grow older.

Because of your generosity, this family has a fighting chance at survival and for this, we are eternally grateful.

Sincerely,

Celine

*Sana prefers not using her real name, and so we've had to change it for the sake of preserving her anonymity and privacy.
