It always amazes me when we are at the end of the first month of the New Year. It seems like just a few days since we have been wishing everyone for the year, and before we know it - a whole month has passed by!
We have had a lovely start to 2026. The Maharashtra Medical Council (the Council based in our home State), has given us Accreditation for Webinars on a case to case basis. Which means, we need to plan special webinars based on their norms, apply to them every time and then conduct the webinars. Each webinar will fetch credit points for those who attend. Doctors need to collect a certain number of credit points to keep their registrations active.
To get this approval we needed to apply to the Council, submit a bunch of documents and answer questions at a hearing. The first hearing was online and the second - in person. For the President of the Council, it was a bit of a challenge to make a decision since what we offered was very new, and the main team of QMed offering programs to doctors, did not comprise of doctors.
Luckily in his cabin was another doctor - who was called in before me. She happened to be in the room to finish some documenting. The President introduced me to her and she told him that she herself had attended my training sessions and that I had also conducted them in the college in which she had been a Dean earlier. That was very helpful and he went ahead to say that we would be accredited!
Even before this happened, we decided to re-start our bi-monthly webinars. We had tried these earlier but did not continue them for a bunch of reasons. This month we did two of them and are happy that we restarted. Going ahead - we need to figure out if we will do both regular and MMC accredited events or only the latter
This month we are delighted to welcome Mahek who will be with us for three weeks as an Intern. She is pursuing her Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences from the SNDT Women's University and this is part of her course requirement.
