Medical students pour out appreciation for lessons learned from QMed!

Medical students have a way of hitting the nail on the head. Here are three accounts of how they expressed appreciation for our lectures and workshops.

  1. Snehal - a medical student, attended a lecture that I delivered and she later described her experience of my lecture, on her Facebook page.

In her post she wrote: The lecture was so helpful, it almost felt like we had found the password to Alibaba's Caves! The treasure was always there, she told us how to access it.

  2. A team of four students, - Kunal, Meet, Tanmay and Ujjwal participated in an event in our city, where they had to make a presentation on "Drug eluting stents". Meet writes:

We were lost. Completely lost in the millions of articles in PubMed. None of us had the slightest idea on how to go about searching for our topic. All we knew was that it had to be done on PubMed. All of us living under the peaceful illusion that a simple search of Drug Eluting Stents on PubMed would give us all our answers.

None of us was prepared for what was about to hit us like a boulder right in our faces. A massive 12000 records!! Fortunately for us, that is when a lecture by Mrs. Vasumathi Sriganesh from QMed, was organized. Every single technique taught during the lecture came in handy! As we applied one by one, we were able to come down to 193 articles.

And with these, we worked at our presentation and won the first prize! If we had not applied these techniques, we would have wasted lots more time searching, and probably missed many great references!

  3. Khanda - a participant of a recent workshop wrote -

What our guides tell us is "Go to PubMed and search for relevant articles!" I would like to ask them "Where were you (when we struggled)? Why didn't you show us this (correct search techniques) before? Did you even know them?"  Hats off to the QMed team for teaching us these skills. I would be glad if a similar workshop is conducted at our institution.

There are lots more Snehals, Khandas, Kunals and team members waiting to be trained in India. If you donate $25 it helps one medical student learn something that he/she does NOT learn in the medical school. If you give a recurring donation of $25 (monthly) you help us train 12 medical students in a year. Just choose the $25 option and the "Donate Monthly" option, to make a difference to lots of medical (and allied health sciences) students!  Help us create a new generation of doctors.
