Feedback from a recent workshop:
We recently conducted a workshop on searching & reference management, organized by the "Indian Journal of Ophthalmology". The editor, for long has felt that everyone engaged with medical writing must go through our workshops and invited us to conduct one. The IJO regularly invites QMed to deliver a lecture in their larger research methodology workshops. Their workshops are open to anyone interested - not only for those who write for the IJO. Our workshop too was open to anyone - students, residents or professionals, and we had a mixed audience.
One of the participants - Nayan - who is studying for a super specialization degree in Clinical Pharmacology had this to say:
"Every student in India should undergo a workshop like this before joining a PG program. The workshop should be made mandatory by the University before passing MD students. The workshop teaches you about having a methodical approach for building your PubMed search strategy which is very vital for writing any paper. THANKS A LOT to QMed for the wonderful lessons & the IJO for giving us this opportunity to attend this workshop!!"The "100 PGs program":
In our last report, we had mentioned how we raised funds for a program that we propose to do for Post Graduate students where will we not only conduct workshops for them, but also mentor them for the searching and referencing for their theses. We propose to do this for 100 residents. We are delighted to share that the Dean of a Medical School has offered their facilities for us to conduct the workshops which will be open to all residents of medical schools in our city. We will be starting the workshops and the mentoring program this month - that is January 2017. Do visit the link at the end of this report to learn more.
Your donations - past & future
You have donated to us one or more times and every donation has helped us reach where we are. We'd like to build up our donation bank, and yet make it easy for you too. Do you think you could plan an annual amount -that you would be happy to donate to us, and then if it is $50 or more, split it as a recurring donation starting any month in 2017? You could stop the donation when you have reached your intended amount. We would love to have the donations spread across months. An additional thank you - if you choose to do this! When you donate on our page - http://www.globalgiving.org/14455, please remember to choose the "Donate monthly" option.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Wonderful 2017!
