ICT Minister Visits Online School

On the 24th June, 2015, Information & Communication Technology Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak graced JAAGO with his presence and spent some quality time with the children of our Rayerbazar School. Not only did he come to see the students, he brought a laptop for the computer lab and 2 very interesting reads for the library. The graphics novel illustrates the biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The other is an amusing collection of rhymes written by a nine year old boy! Mr. Palak was so greatly moved by JAAGO's education program that he himself became the sponsor parent to a JAAGO child. During his visit he has spent some quality time with the teachers and students. Where he motivated our teacher for their continuous effort to build the nation’s future.

Code Trust Launch with JAAGO Foundation

With the vision of creating a learn and earn opportunity for the youngsters of slums, JAAGO Foundation partnered with Coders Trust to create an array of bright future for them. To initiate this pilot project, Coders Trust began its workshop at our Jaago Banani School with their first batch of 40 students where they will get the chance to learn coding and then start earning after couple of months. At the Inauguration of the Learn and Earn Centre, Desmond Swayne TD, MP, State Minister for the Department of International Development, United Kingdom, Soren Robenhagen, Commercial Councilor, Danish Embassy, Ms. Pauline Tamesis, UNDP's Country Director, Sarah crook - DFID country representative Bangladesh and Korvi Rakshand - Chairman, JAAGO Foundation was present. All of them were motivated to see such small but effective initiative for the underprivileged community.
