2026 Jan-Feb Inclusive Sports and Community Update

By Frank li | External Relations Supervisor

In January and February 2026, beYoureyeS continued to promote sports accessibility and community inclusion through its regular weekend inclusive activities. These activities brought together people with visual impairments, volunteer guiders, students, and community members in shared sports and outdoor experiences.

In January, the 452nd to 455th beYoureyeS Weekend Inclusive Activities were held on January 3, 11, 18, and 25 at Gumei Park, Huangpu Riverside, and Century Park.

During the 452nd activity, beYoureyeS organized a 1km New Year Run to celebrate the arrival of 2026. Participants ran and walked together in inclusive groups. The top three running groups received Lanjingling’s latest souvenirs, while other members also received New Year gifts. The event allowed everyone to share the joy of the first inclusive activity of the year.

At the 453rd activity, held at Huangpu Riverside, a student from YK Pao School guided a partner with visual impairment and vividly described the sailboat pattern made of colored bricks on the wall of Warehouse No. 5. From an accessibility perspective, this moment showed how inclusive activities can go beyond physical participation in sports. Through thoughtful description and companionship, people with visual impairments were able to share in the enjoyment of public spaces, art, and everyday community life.

January also marked an important milestone for beYoureyeS. From the very first Weekend Inclusive Activity on January 24, 2015 to the 455th activity on January 25, 2026, the program has entered its twelfth year. What began with accessible sports has continued to grow into a broader effort connecting sports, employment, education, and public awareness. Through continuous action, Lanjingling has shown that accessibility is not only about companionship on the sports ground, but also about every detail of life, from workplace empowerment to art exhibitions, from inclusive activities to daily communication.

In February, Lanjingling members marked the close of the lunar Year of the Snake with two special weekend inclusive activities. On February 1 and 8, the 456th and 457th beYoureyeS Weekend Inclusive Activities were held at Gumei Park and Huangpu Riverside. Participants exercised together, enjoyed the plum blossoms, and welcomed the promise of a bright new year alongside other holiday visitors.

The weekend activities were paused on February 15 and 22 during the Spring Festival period.

Through these January and February activities, beYoureyeS continued to create inclusive opportunities for people with visual impairments to participate in sports, connect with others, and enjoy public community spaces. As the program enters its twelfth year, Lanjingling remains committed to promoting the values of diversity, inclusion, equality, and empowerment through accessible sports and everyday action.
