2026 Mar-May Inclusive Sports and Community Update

By Frank li | External Relations Supervisor

From March to May 2026, beYoureyeS successfully held 12 Weekend Inclusive Activities (Sessions 458-469) across parks, waterfronts, school campuses, and community spaces in Shanghai. Every weekend, people with visual impairments, volunteer guiders, students, families, and community members came together to run, walk, explore public spaces, and experience inclusive sports.

During this period, participants celebrated beYoureyeS’ 11th anniversary, marking more than a decade of building an inclusive sports community. Commemorative notebooks were presented to participants as a symbol of the friendships and shared experiences created through years of weekend activities.

Beyond regular running, participants experienced accessible kayaking, explored Jinxiu Cultural Park together, appreciated the cherry blossoms at Century Park, and visited Wanyuan Xiehe School, showing that accessibility is not limited to sports venues but can be integrated into schools, parks, cultural spaces, and everyday community life.

The weekend activities also continued to strengthen social connections. Participants celebrated birthdays together, shared watermelon after running, and encouraged one another to try new experiences such as riding shared bicycles with volunteer support. These simple moments continue to build confidence, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.

Through 12 consecutive weekend activities over three months, beYoureyeS continued to create accessible opportunities for people with visual impairments to participate in sports and community life. Every activity helps demonstrate that inclusive sports can foster equality, connection, and healthier communities for everyone.
