Hello from Bhongolethu!
As we head into summer here in South Africa, we’ve been busy putting your generous donations to work!
We recently upgraded and repaired our existing jungle gym, and the children are absolutely loving being active during playtime again. It has been such a hit that we’ve gone ahead and ordered two more jungle gyms, which we’re thrilled to be receiving in the next few weeks!
During a recent school meeting, we discussed what we’d like to focus on next and the dream of having a proper sports field came out on top. However, due to the condition of our land, there’s quite a lot of preparation work required, and the cost came in much higher than we expected. Because of this, we’ve decided to save a portion of this donation towards the sports field and have already started additional fundraising to make our dream a reality.
We also used some of the donated funds for a fun and educational planting session with the children, helping them take ownership of their playground while making our school an even brighter, more beautiful place that we’re all proud of.
