In the last few months, we’ve held lobby meetings to get better systems of birth registration for vulnerable children and disenfranchised families.
Our advocacy has yielded amazing things over the years (see previous updates) and we are not letting up.
We have of course been delivering direct case support, tracking down missing family members, giving legal advice and accompanying mothers on the bus as they secure their children’s documents.
We have met the community where they are and celebrated events for the Day of the African Child where we shared key info on process and pitfalls.
District officials are supportive in making positive changes for robust service delivery and we’ve ensured that key stakeholders feel empowered in how to deliver their various roles.
Finally, we have met mothers (current and expecting) and helped them understand birth registration and the future it guarantees their children.
