BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In response to the problem of environment degradation which resulted severe erosion, depleted water basins, and dry rivers in Babati District, TAJPI intended to support and encourage 8,000 students from 8 secondary schools located in Babati Districts to establish their own tree woodlots with emphasis on ecological conversion with a view to achieving self-sufficiency in firewood supply, improve on nutrition and make schools livable places. In a long run, we anticipate to conserve the environment.
As TAJPI realized Earth's fragility and the need to restore and protect Earth's ecological integrity; to reverse that damage, it intended to support 8,000 students from 8 secondary schools in Babati Districts to establish their own tree woodlots with emphasis on ecological conversion with a view to achieving self-sufficiency in firewood supply, improve on nutrition and make schools livable places adequate for study meanwhile make the difference in reversing environmental degradation in Tanzania.
Project has the two spefic objectives; namely (i) To support 8,000 students from 8 secondary schools in Babati Districts to establish their own tree woodlots with emphasis on ecological conversion with a view to achieving self-sufficiency in firewood supply (ii) To improve on nutrition and make schools livable places adequate for study meanwhile make the difference in reversing environmental degradation in Tanzani
PROJECT STATUS
TAJPI has so far accomplished the following milestones;
1. Identification of 8 secondary schools from Babati District, which will be the project target group. Among the schools include; Galapo Secondary School, Magugu Secondary School, Dareda Secondary School, Ayalagaya Secondary, Nkaiti Secondary School, Bonga Secondary School and Chief Dodo Secondary School.
2. Incorporated other strategies in our fundraising campaigns
ACHIEVED FUNDRAISING GOAL
TAJPI has now collected $ 30 from one (1) donor. The organization is still employing other strategies to ensure it attain fundraising goal.
