Dear respected Donors and friends,
Thank you for your generosity and support for maternal health in Nigeria. Your contributions bring hope to mothers facing life-threatening complications during childbirth.
Maternal mortality remains a serious concern, with severe bleeding as one of the leading causes of death. Many hospitals, especially in rural areas, lack timely access to safe blood. Delays or shortages put mothers at grave risk, even when medical facilities are nearby. The “Blood Banks for Mothers in Emergency Situations” project will establish fully equipped blood banks to provide free, safe blood for mothers in urgent need. Expectant mothers, hospitals, and health workers will have direct access to request blood immediately, ensuring timely care and lifesaving interventions.
While the donations received are very tangible, they are not sufficient to fully launch the project yet. Additional support is needed to establish the blood banks, stock supplies, and set up emergency response systems. Once project starts it will help reduce maternal deaths, improve hospital preparedness, and build sustainable systems for regular blood donation and community engagement in saving lives.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
