Dear Conservation Community,
We extend our deepest gratitude to all of you who contributed to our campaign supporting environmental stewardship in rural communities in Botswana. You may remember our update from February when we had just developed a new elephant-themed workshop for kids. Since then, your generosity has enabled us to deploy our "Living With Elephants" workshop for children in the rural villages near Maun, Botswana.
As you might recall, this hands-on workshop used an interactive and practical approach to educate primary school students about elephant behaviour, highlighting similarities to human behaviour and emphasizing safety. We were delighted to see enthusiastic participation from over 70 students, many of whom encounter elephants regularly on their way to school and around their homes and farms.
The students especially enjoyed the elephant-themed games and the creative art session, where they crafted elephant-inspired art using recycled materials. This hands-on activity not only fostered a positive attitude towards elephants but also provided a deeper understanding of their behaviour and importance in the ecosystem.
Thanks to your support, we have been able to reach these young minds, encouraging them to coexist with elephants and live with a little less fear.
