Breaking poverty cycle for 70 youths in Bogota

They are Diana (LEFT) and Carolina, Diana is 16 and Carolina is 14years old, both have been beneficiaries of our program for several years, both have attended different activities where we talk about how to prevent early pregnancy and how valuable they are, however, both of them became pregnant, Diana when she was 15 and Carolina when she was 13, in none of the cases the father is helping with the children.

 Although this story is sad, Pintando Caminos had a great learning: it is not enough to teach them to read and write; is not enough to develop workshops and courses on pregnancy prevention; its not enough to have them busy playing and doing crafts. We need to make them become EMPOWERED and make them aware that their future and their happiness and also  the future of the planet depends only on them and how they make their decisions, so since last year and especially  this year Pintando Caminos is evolving into a LEADERSHIP school where the priority is to make that everything  happening here teaches children and youth to make the best out of them, to value them selfs and take responsibility for their actions.

Pintando Caminos is present for these girls because we love them with all of our heart, Diana help us  at Pintando Caminos, supporting young children and attends every day with Dilan Samuel, her son, so she can pay their basic expenses, buying diapers and pay for the place where she lives with hes sister, she is studing weekends so she can finish school.

Diana lives with her parents who help her care for Sofia and attend regulary our programs.
