Breast and cervical cancer are among the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in Ghana. Early detection is critical, yet many women, especially in rural and underserved areas, lack access to proper screening. The Breast & Cervical Health Screening Fund provides mobile and community-based screening programs, empowers women with knowledge about their health, and helps reduce preventable deaths.
Breast and cervical cancer are leading causes of death among women in Ghana. Many, especially in rural and underserved areas, face barriers to early detection due to limited access to screenings, low awareness of warning signs, and high medical costs. As a result, cancers are often diagnosed too late, reducing treatment options and increasing the emotional and financial burden on families.
This project will bring free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women in rural and underserved communities, enabling early detection and timely treatment. Through mobile clinics and community education, it will raise awareness, empower women with knowledge, and help reduce preventable deaths.
By improving access to breast and cervical cancer screenings and raising awareness in underserved communities, this project will help reduce cancer-related deaths over time. Early detection will increase survival rates, empower women to take charge of their health, and strengthen community health systems. Ultimately, it will contribute to healthier families, more resilient communities, and a lasting culture of cancer prevention and awareness in Ghana.
