The IEA ongoing group Jerusalem and Surrounding Interfaith Encounter group often uses Oud playing in order to enhance the effect of the conversation and bring the hearts closer together. Here are two recent examples:
April 18, 2024
The group finally met completely in person after many months. All the participants were eager to see each other. We checked in with each other, and then turned to our main topic for this encounter: Passover, how it began, and what the journeys of the people of Israel through the desert. The Muslim participants also participated and mentioned how this period was mentioned in the Qur’an. Everyone participated eagerly. We finished with some oud playing as usual, and scheduling the next encounter. We shook hands and blessed the Jewish participants on the occasion of Pesach.
May 17, 2024
The group met face to face and checked in on each other.
Our conversation was about the heavenly books, the Qur’an and the Torah. Who reads them and in what language they are written? We played a little oud and scheduled our next encounter before Eid Al Adha.
