Bridging the digital gap for homeless people

Hoping this report finds you well and healthy, we want to tell you that thanks to your donations and the support of different public and private institutions, so far this semester, more than 300 people have gone through some of the stages of our process, seeking to change their daily reality

Of these people, many are still in the taking part of some activities and, in September, they are beginning the phase of Craft Workshops, to strengthen skills and gain tools so that getting out of their situation of extreme social vulnerability continues its way to achievement.

Within these workshops is our Digital Literacy space, aimed at bridging the digital gap and leveling out tools and opportunities for access to decent work.

We are working against the clock to be able to obtain every device we are short of, and to be able to set up the complete lab, which will house 10 people per workshop shift and will be available for free use by all our beneficiaries.

We will be happy if you can join us on this path, since donors are a fundamental part of the network that keeps the Employment Training Center running at Fundación Multipolar.

Esperando que este reporte te encuentre bien y saludable, queremos contarte que gracias a tus donaciones y al apoyo de distintas instituciones públicas y privadas, en lo que va del semestre, más de 300 personas transitaron por alguna de las etapas de nuestro proceso, buscando cambiar su realidad diaria

De esas personas, muchas continúan aún hoy en el proceso y, en septiembre, están empezando la fase de los Talleres de Oficios, para fortalecer las habilidades y ganar herramientas para que el proceso de salir de su situación de extrema vulnerabilidad social siga tomando forma.

Dentro de esos talleres, se encuentra nuestro espacio de Alfabetización Digital, destinado a achicar la brecha digital y nivelar herramientas y oportunidades para el acceso al trabajo decente.

Estamos trabajando a contrareloj para poder conseguir las computadoras que faltan y poder montar el laboratorio completo, que alojará a 10 personas por turno de taller y estará disponible para el uso libre de todas las personas ususuarias de Multipolar.

Ojalá puedas acompañarnos en este camino, ya que los donantes son una parte fundamental del engranaje de articulaciones que mantiene el Centro de Formación para el Empleo andando en Fundación Multipolar.

Having our own computer lab is one of our priorities.

We know that without basic digital skills there are not many jobs people can apply to, these days.

This space will not only be used for training sessions but it will also be an open space for anyone who doesn't have access to a personal computer or any device for that matter, and needs internet service.

Nowadays most of the jobs searches are made online. Other than that, most of the personal civic documents are requested online.

We are having a hard time raising enough money to set our Lab, so we'll appreciate your help in this matter. You can donate, share our project and our work, follow us on social media, and if you are in Argentina and the company you work for is renewing its computer stock, we are glad to recieve the donation of the old functioning ones! We need computers, cell phones and tablets, to bridge the gap between our people and the job opportunities.
