The Piggy Bank

By Houria Chouhab | HAF-F2F Field Officer

The second story concerns Rhimou, the president of a women’s cooperative in the same province of Al Hoceima. She was born into a rich family and was spoiled by her dad, and she never worried about money shortage. Now, the woman is in her forties and she still spends money without any concern. When the empowerment facilitator spoke about money and its management, Rhimou found it weird to reason this way as it was the first time she would consider money-saving important on both personal and professional levels.

The next day, Rhimou said that she kept thinking about the topic of money and she decided to reconsider the way of spending money. She even added that she got herself a piggy bank to encourage herself to fill it. Rhimou was proud of this transformation and she hopes she will keep the promise she made.
