This project will build 20 surgical recovery wards in Ghana to improve post-operative care for patients recovering from surgery. Many hospitals and healthcare facilities face overcrowding and lack adequate recovery spaces, limiting the quality of care provided after surgical procedures. This project will create safe, well-equipped recovery wards to support patient healing, reduce complications, and improve healthcare outcomes.
Healthcare facilities in many parts of Ghana struggle with inadequate infrastructure for post-surgical care. Patients recovering from operations are often placed in overcrowded wards with limited monitoring and support, increasing the risk of infections, complications, and delayed recovery. The shortage of proper recovery spaces places additional pressure on already stretched healthcare systems.
This project will construct and equip 20 surgical recovery wards in selected hospitals and healthcare centers across Ghana. The wards will provide safe recovery environments with essential beds, monitoring equipment, and patient care facilities. Healthcare workers will also receive support to strengthen post-operative care services.
The project will improve surgical recovery outcomes, reduce post-operative complications, and strengthen healthcare delivery systems in Ghana. Patients will receive safer and more effective care after surgery, leading to faster recovery and improved quality of life. Over time, the project will help increase hospital capacity and improve access to quality healthcare services.
