Dear Friends,
With your amazing support we have not only met our target of £7,608 to build 27 rescue kennels for Indian street dogs, we have exceeded it by £3,000! You also helped us secure £1,000 in bonus prizes from GlobalGiving as part of the Winter Challenge. We are overwhelmed by the generous donations and support you have given and would like to give heartfelt thanks to you all.
We are preparing to begin the building work on the new kennels in April and to complete by July. This means that the kennels will be complete before the monsoon season comes. Monsoon and post-monsoon are our busiest times as this is when there are so many flies that cause maggot infestations in open wounds, and cause severe problems for street dogs. It will be such a relief to have the extra kennel space to accommodate all of the dogs needing our care.
In the attached graph you can see the year on year increase in rescue admissions we have seen at TOLFA. In 2016 we admitted 5,862 animals through our rescue and care project.
The new block of 27 kennels, that you have helped fund, will be used to house dogs such as those in the attached photos - cases that we have recently helped. We see so many dogs in desperate need of medical care and love. Not only can we build the kennels but with the extra money raised we can also feed all of the dogs staying in these kennels for 12 months. This is an incredible result for us.
