This project will establish a community digital resource centre in Ogodo, providing free access to books, computers, and learning materials for 7,000 children from underserved communities. The centre offers classes in numeracy, literacy, and ICT. Teachers also receive training in early childhood education, resource creation, leadership, and ICT, helping improve teaching quality and learning outcomes across the area.
Many children in Nigeria drop out of primary school due to poverty, high education costs, or lack of learning support. Children with disabilities, orphans, and disadvantaged students face the highest risk of exclusion. Without additional resources, schools cannot provide quality education, and children fall behind, limiting future opportunities. A safe, well-equipped learning space is needed to reduce dropouts and improve outcomes.
The centre provides access to books, computers, and structured classes in literacy, numeracy, and ICT. Teachers receive specialized training in early childhood education, leadership, and resource development. Children can learn in a safe, stimulating environment, supported by volunteers and mentorship programs. The centre complements existing schools and helps reduce dropout rates while promoting inclusive education.
The digital centre will serve 7,000 children annually, improving literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills. At least 200 teachers receive training to enhance teaching quality. Volunteers support learning and skill-building, while children gain opportunities for entrepreneurship and personal growth. Over time, the centre strengthens community education, reduces school dropouts, and prepares children for future learning and employment.
