We are excited to report that we are still working hard to get victims of the 2016 earthquake in Ecuador into new homes! While Luis, Evelina, and their family now have a place they can call home, there are still more families in Canoa, Ecuador that need support. Thanks to a grant from Global Giving, Hearts of Gold and Proyecto Saman are working to get three more families into new homes in early 2018.
Thanks to a strategic partnership with CAEMBA, we are able to lower costs of building new homes, and thus two families in Canoa will be able to receive pre-fab homes. The third family will be getting major home repairs which will make their pre-eathquake home livable once again!
We are entering into the rainy season on the coast, thus the team is working very hard to begin construction the first week of March. These families will be moving from tents caught in the rain, into warm, welcoming homes.
We would like to send a huge thanks to you, our Hearts of Gold family and Global Giving, for your ongoing support in eathquake relief. Though the earthquake happened 1 year and 10 months ago, there are still many families that need our help. Thank you for being part of this work, transforming the lives of kind, deserving families on the coast of Ecuador.
