The phase of the Konkourona Middle School construction supported through GlobalGiving is now complete. Four classrooms, an administrative building, a security building, and latrines were successfully built and are ready for the next phase. Phase 2 will include addition of electricity, water, books and desks through a Rotary International Global Grant.
Thank you so much for your support for this project. A record 96% of Konkourona's elementary school students passed the entrance exam for middle school in 2023, up from only 4% in 2019. When only 1 or 2 students/year made it to middle school, there was no need for one in the village. Now that close to 50 students are passing each year, the time has come to make middle school available.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
